KOTA KINABALU: The government has allocated RM680mil for the Price Standardisation, Price Stabilisation and General Use Flour Subsidy programmes this year, says Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

Luyang Assemblyman Phoong Jin Zhe said the government should increase the allocation for the Price Standardisation Programme to resolve the issue of price hikes in vegetables and construction materials. “If this issue is not addressed while the unemployment rate in Sabah is high at 8.8 per cent, it would be devastating to Sabahans to sustain their daily lives. “Sabah has also recorded one of the highest fresh graduate unemployment rates at 9.3 per cent,” he said Sunday.
