The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Tuesday announced that the country's first semi-high-speed regional rail services will be named 'RAPIDX'.
Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, initiated the breakthrough in the presence of Vinay Kumar Singh, MD of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).
The RRTS will connect Meerut and Delhi, situated 87 km apart using India's fastest and modern metro trains made by Alstom, designed to run at 180 kmph.
A Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) train took a ride successfully from Delhi to Ghaziabad station to test the charged Over Head Equipment (OHE), an official said on Tuesday.
