An area high school graduate has been promoted by a law-enforcement agency. Colonel Eric T. Olson, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, has announced Major Lance M. MacLaughlin is being promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel effective January 1, 2021, and will serve as the assistant superintendent.
