Around 81 per cent of healthcare professionals in Pakistan are willing to get vaccinated against Covid-19 but 59 per cent of them have not been offered the vaccine, says a joint survey conducted by the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) and Gallup Pakistan.
“Around 89 per cent of surveyed health professionals worked in facilities where they could encounter Covid-19 patients. Of them, 32 per cent have tested positive previously,” said PIMA Central President Dr Khubaib Shahid while announcing the results of the survey.
He said 59 per cent of the health professionals had not been offered vaccination and this ratio was 74 per cent in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Karachi's second largest Covid-19 vaccination centre starts working at LNH

The second largest adult vaccination centre (AVC) of Karachi for Covid-19 vaccination has started functioning at Liaquat National Hospital (LNH), where frontline healthcare workers are being inoculated, but in the coming days, the public would also be vaccinated against the infectious disease, Sindh health department and LNH officials said on Tuesday.
“The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had approached us to ascertain if we are willing to establish an adult vaccination centre at Liaquat National Hospital.
We said it is a national cause and we are more than happy to offer our services. So, today, an adult vaccination centre at the LNH has started functioning, for which the Covid-19 vaccine is being provided by the government,” Dr Salman Faridi, medical director of the LNH, told The News. ....

With Covid-19 still ravaging the Ghanaian economy, the Minister-designate for Sanitation & Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has indicated that President Akufo-Addo might look at the provision of free water again.
She made the comments at the ongoing vetting of ministers-designate by the Appointment Committee of Parliament.
Her comments follows a question thrown to her by Mr James Agalga, a Member of the committee, if the President will continue the free water initiative, since the citizens must have access to constant water supply to enable them observe the Covid-19 protocols, as the mortality case count had upsurge to 582. ....
