India Retail inflation: In the December policy meeting, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) left the inflation aim unchanged at 5.4 per cent. In the August policy, the RBI MPC had raised its FY24 inflation forecast to 5.4 per cent from 5.1 per cent.
Headline retail inflation has now spent 50 months above the Reserve Bank of India's medium-term target of 4 percent.
For April-October 2023, industrial growth - as measured by the Index of Industrial Production - came in at 6.9 percent as against 5.3 percent in the first seven months of 2022-23
