Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched its third Moon mission, Chandrayaan-3. The spacecraft is expected to make a landing on the Moon on August 23. India's space agency, ISRO, successfully launched Chandrayaan-3 on July 14, 2023. The satellite separated from the rocket and entered Earth's orbit 16 minutes after the lift-off. The soft landing is scheduled for August 23, 2023 and will make India the fourth country ever to accomplish this feat after the US, Russia and China.

The mission objectives of Chandrayaan-3 are to demonstrate a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface, to demonstrate rover roving on the Moon, and to conduct in-situ scientific experiments.
Ahead of Isro's attempt to softly land Vikram (the lander) on August 23, there's some good news about Chandrayaan-3: The propulsion module, which was initially expected to last for three-six months, still has more than 150 kg of fuel left. This suggests it could remain operational for several years to come.
