ISRO’s moon mission Chandrayaan-3 has now crossed a major milestone, and is one step closer to the Moon, with big future plans for the country’s lunar mission.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully positioned Chandrayaan-3 into an orbit of 153km x 163km, marking an important step towards the landing module's crucial attempt to land on the lunar surface on 23 August. The landing module will be separated from the propulsion module, which will be repositioned into an elliptical orbit before the landing attempt. Engineers will also have to navigate the complex process of transforming the module's horizontal orientation into a vertical one.
