Amid the tussle with the government over sexual harassment charges against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the wrestlers have said they will throw their Olympic medals in River Ganga today at 6 pm.
They also announced that they will sit for a fast until death at the India Gate.
The wrestlers, including Olympic medalists Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, were detained in Delhi on Sunday for violating law and order and were released the next day. They had been protesting against an alleged sexual harassment incident involving a wrestling official.
The country's top wrestlers have reached Haridwar to immerse their medals in river Ganga as a mark of protest against WFI chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations.
An FIR was registered against wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia, and Vinesh Phogat who had organised the protest outside the newly constructed Parliament building.
