ఇస్రో పీఎస్‌ఎల్‌వీ సీ-51 వాహకనౌక నింగిలోకి 19 శాటిలైట్స్‌ని పంపిస్తే వాటిల్లో ‘సింధునేత్ర’(ఆర్‌శాట్‌) నిఘా ఉపగ్రహం ఒకటి. దీనికి డీఆర్‌డీవో నిధులు సమకూర్చగా, బెంగళూరులోని పీఈఎస్‌ విశ్వవిద్యాలయానికి చెందిన మహిళా శాస్త్రవేత్తలు, సాంకేతిక నిపుణులు తుదిరూపునిచ్చారు. సముద్ర తీరంలో గస్తీ కాస్తూ శత్రు దేశ నౌకల సమాచారాన్ని మన అధికారులకు చేరవేయడం సింధునేత్ర పని. దీని తయారీలో రీసెర్చ్‌ అసోసియేట్‌గా కీలకపాత్ర పోషించిన కావ్య నిత్యం పరిశోధనల్లో మునిగితేలడంలోనే అంతులేని సంతృప్తి ఉందని అంటున్నారు. గతంలో పీశాట్‌ ఉపగ్రహం తయారీలో పనిచేసిన అనుభవం ఉందామెకు. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులో అసెంబ్లీ ఇంటిగ్రేషన్‌ టెస్టింగ్‌, ఆన్‌బోర్డ్‌ కమ్యూనికేషన్‌ సిస్టమ్‌ వంటి వ్యవహారాలని పర్యవేక్షించారామె. ‘ఆరేళ్లుగా సింధునేత్ర కోసం పనిచేస్తున్నా. ఈ ప్రయాణంలో డిజైన్‌, టూల్స్‌పై పట్టు సాధించటం సవాలుగా అనిపించింది. నిత్యం మారుతున్న సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌లపై అవగాహన పెంచుకుంటూ ఉండాలి. ఇదేమంత తేలికైన వ్యవహారం కాదు. చాలా ఓర్పుతో ఉండాలి. నా స్నేహితులంతా ఎంఎన్‌సీల్లో పని చేస్తూ మంచి జీతాలు అందుకుంటున్నారు. వారాంతాల్లో నచ్చినట్టుగా ఉంటారు. నాకు అంతంత వేతనాలు, సౌకర్యాలు లేకపోయినా పరిశోధన రంగంలో నేను సాధించిన ఈ విజయం ఇచ్చిన సంతృప్తి వెలకట్టలేనిది’ అంటోంది కావ్య.
చిన్న ఉపగ్రహమే కానీ...
తక్కువ వ్యయంతో... లక్ష్యాలను చేరుకునే ఉపగ్రహాల తయారీ అంత సులువు కాదు. వీటిని రూపకల్పనకు నేర్పు, ఓర్పు కూడా చాలా అవసరం అంటారు మరో రీసెర్చ్‌ అసోసియేట్‌ అభిరామి. ‘ఉపగ్రహాల తయారీకి వాడే సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌లు ప్రతి ఏటా మారిపోతుంటాయి. ఏమాత్రం వెనుకబడినా కష్టమే. అందుకే ఎప్పటికప్పుడు నైపుణ్యాలు పెంచుకోవాలి. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులో సిస్టమ్‌ అండ్‌ ఇంటిగ్రేషన్‌ కూర్పులు నాకు సవాళ్లు విసిరేవి. పేరుకు చిన్న ఉపగ్రహమే అయినా పెద్ద శాటిలైట్‌కు అవసరమైన డిజైన్లు, ఇంటిగ్రేషన్‌లు సమకూర్చాల్సి వచ్చింది’ అంటారామె.
వైఫల్యాలే పాఠాలుగా...
వైఫల్యాలే తనకు విలువైన పాఠాలు నేర్పాయని అంటున్నారు ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులో శాటిలైట్‌ డిజైన్‌, యాంటెన్నా టెస్టింగ్‌ విభాగాల్లో పనిచేసిన సుష్మ.  
‘ఈ శాటిలైట్‌ కోసం యూనివర్సిటీలో అందుబాటులో ఉన్న సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌లతోనే యాంటెన్నా డిజైన్‌లను రూపొందించా. కానీ అవేమీ నాకు నచ్చలేదు. వైఫల్యం చెందిన ప్రతిసారీ కొత్త డిజైన్‌లు తయారు చేశా. అప్పుడే పుస్తకాల్లో చదివిన దానికీ ప్రత్యక్ష ప్రాజెక్టులకు ఎంత తేడా ఉంటుందో తెలిసొచ్చింది. దీని టెస్టింగ్‌ కోసం రోజూ 50కి.మీల దూరంలోని డీఆర్‌డీఓ కేంద్రానికి వెళ్లేదాన్ని’  అంటోంది సుష్మశంకరప్ప.
విద్యార్థులకు శిక్షణ ఇచ్చి...
ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులో శాస్త్రవేత్తలే కాదు... విద్యార్థులూ పాలుపంచుకున్నారు. దాదాపు 10బ్యాచ్‌లకు చెందిన 50మంది విద్యార్థులు దీంట్లో పని చేశారు. వీరి నైపుణ్యాలను గుర్తిస్తూ వాటిని ప్రాజెక్టు కోసం ఉపయోగపడేలా చేశారు మెంటార్‌ ప్రియాంక అగర్వాల్‌.

Hyderabad: Telangana Prime Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on the successful launch of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C51 / Amazonia-1 mission.
Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on the successful launch of Brazil's Amazonia-1 satellite by ISRO's PSLV-C51. Rao said ISRO has proved to be one of the world's leading space research organizations. He congratulated the scientists, engineers, other technical staff, and employees of the ISRO for the success. The CM said that with the launch of PSLV-C51, ISRO is one of the largest leading organizations in the world.

The PSLV-C51 / Amazonia-1 mission was launched by ISRO from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. On Sunday, India’s PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) C-51 launched with Amazonia-1, a Brazilian satellite, and 18 other satellites. The PSLV-C51 took off from the first launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, about 100 kilometers from Chennai, at about 10.24 a.m., after a 26-hour countdown.
The primary satellite, Amazonia-1, is scheduled to reach orbit about 18 minutes after launch, with the other 18 satellites following in the next two hours. The Space Kidz India (SKI) satellite from Chennai is also among these satellites. An image and name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with a copy of Bhagavad Gita is etched on the spacecraft’s top panel. PSLV-C51 is the 53rd mission of PSLV, according to a tweet from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

PSLV-C51 launched Amazonia-1, an optical earth observation satellite, and 18 other satellites on Sunday at 10:24am.

The names of Isro chairman K Sivan and scientific secretary R Umamaheshwaran have also been etched on the bottom panel of the Satish Dhawan SAT (SDSAT) built by Space Kidz India. Prime Minister’s photo and name appear on the top panel. The names of 25,000 individuals are etched on the panels.

India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C51 lifted off today (28 February) at 10.24 am from Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota, carrying the landmark Brazilian satellite Amazonia-1 and 18 co-passenger satellites.
After a flight time of close to 17 and a half minutes, the primary satellite Amazonia-1 was successfully separated from the launch vehicle and injected into its planned orbit. The rest of the satellites followed suit and were placed in orbit close to two hours after launch.
