The funding round was led by BP Ventures, the investment arm of energy company BP.
The company has raised $37 million in equity and $5 million in venture debt in this round, with nearly 50% of the funding being subscribed by BluSmart’s founders and leadership team.
Over 50% of the total capital infusion came from founders, Anmol Jaggi and Punit Goyal, themselves to increase their stake in the company, people added. This is part of the company’s Series A2 round.
The first 70 EV cars of BluSmart ran on the Uber platform after which the startup developed its own app.
