Needle in a haystack. we have two c-130s that will be sent out tomorrow to continue the search. two c-130s in the size of the ocean of a java sea there. it s pretty tough to spot things. it is, alex. but the good thing is they have better radar coverage so they at least can narrow the search area down. as i talked about before the sea state is going to spread that wreckage but with the surface assets and then of course airborne assets i think they are going to have a better at least a better understanding of where to look and how to focus that search and rescue effort. we certainly hope so. greg thank you so much. we re going to continue to keep all of you updated on this story as we learn more here on msnbc. ....

Principles. but most airlines have dramatically improved their reporting, the so-called en route reporting for this. and it s worth mentioning here, it is worth mentioning, i do not foresee that we would be in a similar situation that we are in 370. for several reasons. firstly, there s more reporting from the computers on board. but also the air space around here. we are not talking about the deep indian ocean here. we are talking about congested air space around southeast asia. so there will be much better radar coverage. there s certainly much better air traffic control coverage of it. and even if the plane were between radar centers, there will be much better information on where this plane where it was at the time. that i m pretty certain about. ....

Are likely to have radar coverage. if we haven t got radar coverage, we most certainly will have acars information from the aircraft that will allow the authorities to pin down quickly where this event took place. and as i emphasized, between indonesia look at the map. between indonesia and singapore where this plane was going there is strong and good military and civilian radar because this is such a heavily trafrld arily tr. and as you talk about it being a heavily traveled area, i don t know if you ve been able to check this. were there other aircraft in the skies flying this route at this time? do we know? i don t know. but i would imagine look, it s coming up to 11:00. it was late at night. if i look at the previous flights of qz 8501 you re looking at sort of a departure and an arrival time late at night. so it leaves at about 10:00 at ....

Are these rescue and recovery teams up against? and considering the weather factors. and how important is time being of the essence here to locate this airplane? well, time is of the essence for so many reasons. in this particular airspace there should be radar coverage. they should be able to see on the radar exactly where the plane went. the malaysia 370 situation was unusual in that, you know, first they said there was no radar and then four days later the malaysian military said they had radar showing it was had crossed indonesia and was going a whole different direction. there s really no excuse for any kind of delay in modern aviation where you have radar coverage and there should be entire radar coverage here. so they should have a good idea and they should be searching getting all the data right now as to where that plane was last ....

It is just after 2:30 in the morning. the sea search will resume as soon as there is daylight there. you do expect that they ll find some wreckage? i would certainly hope so. we are talking about a much smaller area than in the malaysia 370 accident. we ve got, it appears, perhaps better radar coverage. we do have obviously some indications of deviation of the aircraft but we don t have the type of deviation that everybody was speculating about in the context of 370. you have an interesting influx here or conflagration, i should say of interests here. you have european built plane an airbus. you ll probably have american investigators at least to some degree. they ll probably ask for our help. and different nations involved which in the past has been a recipe for conflict. it has. i think we saw in malaysia 370 that the sort of geopolitical ....
