Put the lawn mower away and bring out the snow shovel one more time.
Much of Saskatchewan is waking up to a blanket of wet heavy snow Monday morning.
Most areas have seen five to ten centimeters, with the heaviest accumulation so far in the Wynyard region, where close to 20 cm’s has come down.
The winter weather is expected to continue until later in the day Tuesday, before tapering off after that.

Saskatchewan sees record home sales in March

By Josh Sigurdson
Apr 12, 2021 7:37 AM
Real estate in Saskatchewan continues to boom during the pandemic, setting yet another sales record in March.
The Saskatchewan Realtors Association (SRA) says home sales in March were up 85 percent from last year, while inventories were down.
Economic Analyst Chris Gbekorbu says having low inventory is actually helping the market.
“We’ve got lower inventory, so there’s less houses available out on the market at the moment,” said Gbekorbu. “Part of the reason why we’re seeing a lot of sales happening is that people realize that there aren’t as many homes out there right now, they’re kind of getting snapped up, so now might be a good time to start buying.”

Nutrien to compensate farmers for eco-friendly practices

By News Room
Apr 12, 2021 6:37 AM
Crop input giant Nutrien of Saskatoon is making an effort to help set up a program to compensate farmers for practices to reduce climate change.
The vice president of sustainability for Nutrien, Candace Laing, says the company has set a goal to reduce greenhouse gases while still increasing food for a hungry world.
“As a really important carbon sink, we can bring even more practices for growers, and incense them in using those practices,” said Laing. “And make sure we’re compensating growers for the work they’re doing for the environment, which is really making sure and that’s what we’re focused on, one of our big commitments to launch and scale a carbon program for growers.”
