New Delhi: Thousands of people's personal information, including their names, mobile numbers, addresses, and COVID test results, has been leaked from a government server in India, and this information can be found through an online search.
The Centre on Friday dismissed reports of data leak from CoWIN application and said that the digital platform is safe and secure.
COVID-19 data leak online: A cyber security researcher citing breach said that personally identifiable information (PII) has been made public through a content delivery network (CDN) and Google has indexed lakhs of these public and private documents possessed by the government.
Cyber-criminals have allegedly stolen data of thousands of people in India, including health workers, from a government server (that has even been indexed in Google Search), which includes name, mobile number, address and Covid test results.
They have been put on sale on the Raid Forums website where a cyber criminal claims to have personal data of over 20,000 people
