"Barring some parts of west Rajasthan and the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, no place in the country is likely to see a heatwave in the next five days," IMD said.
The weather body has predicted a cloudy sky with the possibility of thunderstorms at isolated places over Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, east Rajasthan and parts of Uttar Pradesh from Monday.
People in Delhi-NCR woke up to a cloudy sky on Saturday and are likely to witness drizzle later in the day, India Meteorological Data (IMD) said.
The IMD’s Senior Scientist predicted that Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab are likely to receive rain today.
About 30 districts in the state including Lucknow, Kanpur, Barabanki, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Sambhal, Bijnor and Amroha, Sultanpur, Sitapur, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj among others, have been witnessing incessant rains since late on Wednesday night.
