Blast-Like Sound Heard Near Rajouri Temple, Probe Underway To Find Its Nature
Rajouri: Teams from Police and army on Friday carried out detailed investigations into last night’s ‘blast-like’ incident near a temple in Rajouri district, officials said.
They said the blast-like sound was heard at Kalka Mata Mandir in Rajouri late last night. There was no damage to life or property in the incident.
While the concerned police party had visited the spot immediately, they said, a team of higher officials comprising SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli, DSP headquarters besides SHO Rajouri along with team from army’s 156TA and 48RR visited the spot for further investigations. “There was no loss of life and property in the incident. Cause of blast is not confirmed yet,” they said.

SRINAGAR, Dec 16: A man was injured after he was shot at outside his house in Draj village of Kotranka in Rajouri district, late last night.
The injured has been identified as 36-year-old Ranjit Singh son of Prem Singh, a resident of Draj village of Kotranka in Rajouri district.
Local news gathering agency KNO quoting unnamed officials reported that at around 12 AM last night, unknown gunmen fired at Singh, outside his house. “He sustained a bullet wound,” the official said.
The injured was evacuated to the hospital by his family members and neighbours. “From CHC Kandi, he was referred to GMC Rajouri and is under treatment”, officials said.

JAMMU: A 36-year old person, reportedly a worker of Apni Party headed by Altaf Bukhari, was shot at by unknown gunmen in Rajouri district overnight, officials said on Wednesday.
They said the 36-year-old Ranjit Singh son of Prem Singh was fired upon outside his residence at Draj village of Kotranka.
He was immediately removed to CHC Kandi from where he was referred to government Medical College Rajouri.
SSP Rajouri Chandan Kohli confirmed the incident and said that a case has been registered and investigations have been started. “His condition is stable now,” the police officer said. (AGENCY)

JAMMU, Dec 12: Thirty one Territorial Constituencies will go to polling in Phase-VI of the District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow for which 7.48 lakh electorates are eligible to exercise their right to franchise.
In Jammu division, 17 seats spread over nine districts will have voting tomorrow which include Balakote in Poonch and Nowshera in Rajouri whose number of polling stations fall well within shelling and firing range on the Line of Control with Pakistan for which the concerned district administration was keeping the fingers crossed as the Pakistani troops resorted to shelling and firing in Balakote this evening for about half an hour.

JAMMU, Dec 10: Jammu region continued to show overwhelming response to the District Development Council (DDC) elections with whopping 66.67 percent electorates exercising their right to franchise for 20 Territorial Constituencies in fifth phase of voting today which passed off peacefully barring attack on a BJP activist in Dhangri seat in Rajouri district in which an FIR has been registered against the National Conference workers.
However, voting percentage fell by 2.6 percent in Phase-V as compared to Phase-IV, official figures released by the State Election Commission (SEC) revealed.
