Flood situation has been improving in Sirajganj as the water level has started decreasing in Jamuna but the river is still flowing above the danger level, leaving many still waterlogged.
In a mere half an hour, the Jamuna devoured the homes, croplands, and belongings of some 30 families in Ichamara village of Bogura’s Sariakandi. Powerless to do anything, the families watched in horror as everything they owned was swept away, leaving them with nothing.
Jamuna’s water levels crossed the danger threshold in Sirajganj early yesterday, deteriorating the flood situation. It may cross danger levels at every point in the district, after which water will recede according to water development board.
