Of justly first your reaction to this new information coming out that maybe it wasn t reprogrammed and to make that turn to the west before that last communication. it is a game changer to see the least. right now we have no evidence that the crew did anything wrong and now we should be operating with the primary assumption that something bad happened to that plane shortly after they said good night. was it a bomb that caused rapid decompression event in the cockpit. which caused power failures and communication failures. the right thing to do would have been to lower your altitude quickly. we know they mate a turn but we aren t sure of the scent. ....

There s a lot of information about the fphysics. i can t imagine it would give us any clues about why this happened or how it specifically happened. so when we see the pieces being put back together in warehouses like twa flight 800 as remarkable as it looks it yields scant information about what happened before the actual crash. it would give the approximate cause. was it fire? there d be evidence of fire. was it an explosion of some kind? rapid decompression, you might find evidence of that because of fractured lines. it would give you that kind of information as far as what might have happened prior to the accident, but it really wouldn t tell you who or why. or why. something that you mentioned to me just before we popped up on the air after this break, the cockpit voice recorders only record two hours. and that s something that the union, the pilots union, negotiated. they didn t want anymore of two hours of recordings for privacy. in this scenario what we know about this fl ....

Very long. no. you get 10 to 15 minutes depending on how full you are. is that enough? is there anything that can be done about it? that isn t enough time to bring a plane down in a planned kind of emergency. what s important to recognize as a crew member, if there would be some kind of explosive rapid decompression, that the time of useful consciousness at 43,000 feet would just be about 10 seconds. yeah, not good. hey, nice to see you. really appreciate it. best of luck. thank you very much. asked you earlier to tweet us about what investigators might be overlooking here. i m going to sara, is that right? sara marx over here. it didn t say a bet number. i have to give the microphone. where it is. you told me the mike would be over here. what are they saying? lots of tweets coming in today. words of wisdom from the interwebs. yes, indeed. socal mike says i m a pilot. ....

Aircraft, and there s a separate independent data streen of interest to investigators that sends virtually real time information to the airline about the aircraft s maintenance condition. that data is out there. it would be interesting to find out if it continued on from when they found out they lost connection with the plane. this recent faa air worthiness directive which ordered checks on 777s is also drawing new scrutiny. it said cracks in the jet s skin could read to a, quote, rapid decompression and loss of integrity. when the data is collected by faa and they see there s a pattern, perhaps, or something that is happening to these airplanes, they will issue these a.d.s. as the search expanded to 27,000 nautical square miles, an area roughly the size of indiana, recriminations and frust rail boiled over after conflicting reports about the jet s sudden u-turn. ....
