Best and Worst Commentators from each country?

Harsha may be a good commentator but he is often too full of himself. His IIM MBA fuelled hubris shows itself all too often and is rather annoying. The fact that he hasn't played anything besides street cricket also runs against him. For me one can't comment on a game unless one has played it at the highest level.
I remember a television discussion featuring Harsha and MAK Pataudi some years ago (It was possibly just after India's exit from the 2007 WC after India lost to Bangladesh). Harsha was breathing fire on Rahul Dravid, going to the point of suggesting that he should stop playing ODIs and stick to test cricket. To this MAK calmly asked, 'And how many tests have you played, Harsha?". I can still pay to see Harsha's face when he heard this! It was hilarious! Old MAK sure did know how to puncture hot air balloons

April 2, 2021, marks 10 years since India lifted the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, becoming the first team to experience World Cup glory at home. India broke Australia's streak of three consecutive World Cup wins – 1999, 2003 and 2007 – on the back of some scintillating performances throughout the tournament.
From beating Bangladesh comprehensively in the opener, to tying a nerve-racker of a contest against England to finally trumping Sri Lanka in the final, the night of April 2, 2011 – when MS Dhoni lofted Kulasekara into the stands at the Wankhede Stadium, backed by bone-chilling lines from Ravi Shastri on air – sent the entire country into euphoria. 28 years since Kapil Dev's Daredevils had done the unthinkable in 1983, history was created once again. And as the country celebrates a decade of India's historic win, we look at the five players without whom it couldn't have been possible.

The Indian cricket team has done magnificently well with their resounding win over England in all formats of the game. The Test series was important since a convincing series win was required for India to qualify for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand in June.
India, having lost the first Test match, came back forcefully to win the series. To win both the T20 and the ODI series after that against the strong England limited-overs side was a remarkable feat.
The heroes involved in this success were the young Indian brigade. The most destructive and devastating of all was Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper-batsman, having done an incredible task of taking India to one of their most enthralling wins against Australia, proved to be England's nemesis.

To get a better understanding of just how sensational this phase has been for the wicketkeeper-batsman, one needs to look back at a period just before the coronavirus-enforced break last year.
On January 14, 2020, India played Australia in a One-Day International in Mumbai and the match saw Pant get hit on the helmet as he attempted a pull off a Pat Cummins delivery and got dismissed. The blow led to a concussion and he didn’t take the field in the second half of the match.
However, the bigger setback for Pant was KL Rahul taking over wicketkeeping duties in limited-overs matches from there on and cementing his place in that position. Pant didn’t make it to the XI in the ODI and T20I games in New Zealand soon after (remember this?) and after that injury in Mumbai, the next opportunity he got in white-ball cricket for India came 14 months later.

India head coach Ravi Shastri took to social media to heap rich praise on his wards after India sealed their 5th series win since their return to international cricket in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. It all culminated with India winning a fiercely-fought 3-match ODI series, sealing a 7-run victory in the final match that went down to the last over in Pune on Sunday.
India survived a scare from Sam Curran, who played a valiant knock of 95 not out, as he gave England hopes when they were reeling at 168 for 6 in chase of 330. Curran single-handedly took England close to the finish line but India held their nerves and once again showed they thrive under pressure by defending 18 runs in the last 2 overs.

In 2017, after India lost in the final of the Champions Trophy to Pakistan, a bold decision by India’s captain and coach duo of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri saw India turn to two wrist spinners at the same time, while dumping the experienced pair of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in white-ball cricket.
The idea was to get wickets in the middle overs, something which Ashwin and Jadeja had failed to do against Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the tournament. The results of this novel approach were profitable in the short run, as, guided by Mahendra Singh Dhoni behind the stumps, leggie Yuzvendra Chahal and Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav bamboozled batting lineups, giving India breakthroughs on placid wickets. Bowling in tandem, the tweakers looked dangerous, and India’s strategy of gambling runs for wickets was praised all around.
