The Latest: Ige Approves Kauaʻi's 'Resort Bubble' Plan; Kawakami Proposes Change To Travel Rule
Casey Harlow / HPR Mayor Derek Kawakami is awaiting Governor David Ige's approval on a proposed change to Kauaʻi's Rule 23. The amendment would rescind the county's moratorium on the Safe Travels program for inter-island travel. If approved, inter-island travelers would be allowed to participate in the state's Safe Travels program, and be exempt from the 10-day travel quaratine with proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken less than 72 hours before travel.
