PH Heart Center's P71-M claims filed in 2020 denied by PhilHealth – COA – Manila Bulletin

The Philippine Heart Center’s (PHC) claims filed in 2020 totaling P71.17 million have been denied by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) due to government hospital’s purported failure to comply with the provisions of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 7875 or the National Health Insurance Act, and relevant PhilHealth circulars.
Commission on Audit
This was bared by the state auditors in the 2020 audit of the PHC released on Wednesday, April 28.
The Commission on Audit (COA) noted that the denied and return to hospital (RTH) claims “resulted in accumulation of uncollectibles from PhilHealth and loss of income on the part of the PHC.” ....

In a joint congressional hearing on reported illegal STL operations in various parts of the country, Garma showed softening in her defense of STL operations, particularly that of the Sahara Games that has been the object of numerous complaints from political leaders in Isabela.
Apparently vowing to pressure from lawmakers, Garma  said complaints against Sahara Games will be investigated, saying that PCSO’s recommendations will be made known within ten days, instead of 30 days as she previously declared.
Prior to congressional hearing on Monday, March 1 that was conducted by the House Committees on Games and Amusement and on Good Government, Garma rejected demands from lawmakers to shut down Sahara Games’ operations in Isabela, saying that Malacanang, not her, has the authority to make such decision. ....

PH blacklists 3 firms for unfulfilled NIA contracts

Three companies were officially blacklisted from participating in any government-funded projects in the Philippines for failure to deliver their contractual obligations with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA).
A NIA statement identified the three project contractors, namely the consortium of ITP Construction, Inc. and Guangxi Hydroelectric Construction Bureau Co., Ltd., MAC Builders, and Premium Megastructures, Inc.

Subsequently, aggregate performance security of the contractors amounting to P2.06billion will also be forfeited.
NIA said this is pursuant to Section 69 (Imposition of Administrative Penalties) of the Republic Act (RA) No. 9184 (Government Procurement Reform Act) and upon the findings and recommendations of the Contract Termination Review Committee (CTRC) in its Resolution of Termination. ....
