Hillary Clinton scolds Boris Johnson for delaying release of Russian meddling report

Hillary Clinton this week sharply rebuked Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom for his “incredibly surprising and unacceptable” decision to delay the release of a report detailing potential Russian influence in British politics until after the country’s general election on Dec. 12. “I mean, who do they think they are that they would keep information like that from the public, especially before an election?” the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee told The Guardian for a story published Monday. Downing Street asserted last week that it needs time to review the politically sensitive 50-page dossier, citing the security implications of making public the report by Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee.

We need a Blair-Osborne Act to stop ex-MPs shilling for foreign rulers

At this rate, it won’t be long before George Osborne buys a stately home to rival that of Tony Blair. The former chancellor bagged his 13th job this week: he has been recruited as an adviser to Coinbase, a cryptocurrency outfit. All this while chairing the British Museum and working for an investment bank. He’s currently advising the Emirati government on how best to buy The Telegraph. His earnings aren’t published anymore but I suspect that, by the end of this year, he will be a very rich man i

Jacques Delors poisoned British democracy

Jacques Delors, whose death was announced this week, could claim to have had a greater impact on British politics than any of his predecessors or successors as European Commission president. Indeed, he was key to the process by which the British Labour movement transformed itself from avowedly Eurosceptic to one that was overwhelmingly pro-EU.
