On the afternoon of 4 January, the Russian forces carried out six unsuccessful assault actions, trying to knock out the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from their bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
Ukrainian troops have forced the Russians to retreat from some positions near Verbove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and prevented them from breaking through their defences on the Avdiivka and Kupiansk fronts.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported that the Russians tried to attack on four fronts over the past 24 hours. It was also specified that the Russians used 135 weapons to conduct an airstrike earlier today.
