HOLLAND — The Ottawa Area Intermediate School District went with a familiar face to fill a board vacancy. During its meeting Wednesday, Feb. 16, the board appointed former 12-year board member Richard Cooley for a four-month term. Cooley will fill the seat of Ron Eding, who served as board treasurer for 23 years and died Jan. 28 at age 76. Cooley's appointment runs until the board's regularly scheduled June 7 election. HOLLAND — The Ottawa Area Intermediate School district is looking for applicants to fill a vacancy on its board of education.Those interested in being considered for the appointment should submit a letter of interest to OAISD Superintendent Kyle Mayer by no later than 12 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.The selected appointee will fill the spot of longtime board member Ron Eding, who died Thursday, Jan. 28, at age 76. The appointment will run through the next regular OAISD board election in June.
