Donald Ray ‘Donnie’ Mallard WILMINGTON — Donald Ray “Donnie” Mallard, 84, peacefully passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at his home of 81 years. He was the loving husband of Carolyn (Clemmons) Mallard. Donnie was born Nov. 16, 1936, in Wilmington, the son of the late Sanders “Buddy” Mallard and Tera Mae Mallard. Donnie overcame many of life’s early challenges as a premature baby, and then, at age 6, he was struck by a car.
