Can the Splash Brothers ever match 117-point night of Wilt Chamberlain, Al Attles?

With the anniversary of Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point game approaching, it’s a fun time to revisit the favorite joke of Al Attles, the Warriors’ ambassador who regularly reminds people that he and Chamberlain combined for 117 points on March 2, 1962.
Nearly 60 years later, Attles’ joke isn’t a laughing matter.
The 117 points still stands as the most points any two teammates have combined to score in an NBA game. Even with two of the greatest shooters in NBA history, the Warriors have not sniffed the record.
With their best tandem game having come Feb. 27, 2016, the Splash Brothers combined for 78 points against Oklahoma City. Stephen Curry had 46 points on 12-for-16 3-point shooting in the virtuoso game, and Klay Thompson added 32 points on 23 field-goal attempts.

Warriors revolutionized NBA with their range; now, they simply can't shoot

Breaking news: The Warriors cannot shoot anymore.
This shouldn’t be an all too jolting development for those who have watched the team closely during the past couple of years, but spotlighted stages opening night Tuesday in Brooklyn and on Christmas in Milwaukee shoved the facts right into the face of a national audience.
In those losses, during which they got beat by an average of 32.5 points, the Warriors went 20-of-78 from 3-point range (25.6%). That’s a far cry from the Warriors’ long-range accuracy when they were revolutionizing the NBA during five straight trips to the NBA Finals from 2015 to ’19.
