ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) — The red polish on Estella Williams’ nails matched the paint on her handheld stop sign as she examined the various cracks and chips on the placard.
It’s the second one she’s had in her nearly 25 years of directing traffic at Anderson’s Westside High School, she said, and it might be about time to replace it. As for replacing her?
She’ll “think about it,” but don’t count on this 94-year-old leaving her post on Pearman Dairy Road any time soon.
