Scottie Seymour Named Big Ten Medal of Honor Finalist

Ohio State baseball student-athlete Scottie Seymour has been named one of five male finalists for the Big Ten Medal of Honor. The award is given each year to the top female and male senior student-athlete on each Big Ten campus.
Seymour, a Maumee, Ohio, native has appeared in 38 games as a Buckeye and has played all over the field. As a utility player, he has seen action at first-base, second-base, third-base, catcher, outfield and designated hitter. This season, he has played in 11 games with six starts. He had a triple in his first start this season at Michigan and then followed it with a career-high three-hit game which included a double and triple two days later.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – We’re halfway through the 2021 Big Ten baseball season and Ohio State is near the top of the standings as it makes the turn. The second half starts with a trip to Maryland this weekend for a three-game set with the Terrapins. Friday night’s opener will start at 6:30 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. game on Saturday and a 1 p.m. game on Sunday. The two teams met twice earlier this season in Columbus during Ohio State’s home opening weekend and they split those games.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Ohio State scored five unanswered runs to come back and beat Michigan 7-4 in game one of a huge weekend series in Ann Arbor on Friday afternoon.
The Buckeyes slugged 13 hits on their way to a fifth consecutive victory. OSU is now 13-7 on the season and pull even with Michigan for second place in the Big Ten standings.
“We’ve got some tough guys that just keep battling,” said Brent Todys. “We’re never going to be the team that just goes away. 1-9 we have guys that can get a big hit. We kept fighting today and we’re having some fun right now.”
