The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said a man was killed after he was attacked by a shark in Plettenberg Bay on Tuesday.
NSRI rescue swimmers are yet to find a man who was swept into the sea off rocks by waves at the Esplanade in Hermanus.
Bathers, surfers, paddlers, kite boarders and body boarders have been warned to exercise caution due to the increased inshore shark activity along the southern and Eastern Cape coastline.
A large shark was spotted in the surfline in Jeffreys Bay on Wednesday and increased shark activity has been observed over the past few weeks.
