Testing, tracking, and isolation: These make up the hallmark package to control the spread of COVID-19. In countries where this package was implemented comprehensively once this pandemic was declared in March 2020, normal social life has resumed.
These are also the same countries where community wellbeing is considered far above individual freedoms. Countries such as Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, where testing still happens with no delay, tracking is done with no gaps and isolation is employed with no resistance.

wellbeing’ is a new book by Professor Girol Karacaoglu,
the Head of the School of Government at Victoria University
of Wellington, which will be published by Wellington
publisher Tuwhiri on 14th January 2021. The book examines
the processes by which wellbeing-focused public policy
