In a terrorist attack on a security post, four soldiers and as many insurgents were killed in a shootout that ensued the attack in a former Taliban stronghold in a tribal district in northwest Pakistan on Friday.  The attack took place in Makeen area in the South Waziristan district, bordering Afghanistan.  Troops responded promptly to the attack, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army's media wing.  "At least four soldiers were killed in the attack," it said, adding four attackers were also killed.

We do need to go through a restructuring. i think we can make the state department more effective or efficient with the same or less resources and do a better mission. this administration and congress needs to understand that the state department does a great job in conflict mitigation. for every diplomat, that saves us having to use missiles and guns. it's way cheap tore use state department and way more peaceful. i think we can make some serious reforms in the state department, but i agree, we need to appreciate the people who work for it. >> i was talking to a republican senator the other d...
