Rescue pet adoption encouraged - Bayside News

Rescue pet adoption encouraged

IN a time where friends and family have been kept apart, the positive impact of pets on people’s lives has never been more apparent.
The team at PETStock Chelsea is encouraging local residents to adopt rescue pets this month. Their inaugural “National Pet Adoption Month” takes place in March.
PETstock Assist charity and events lead Jessica Curtis said the event aims to make everyone “think differently about what they can do to help break the cycle of pet homelessness”.
“Those who choose to adopt not shop play a critical role in reducing the number of animals in need,” she said. “Not only by providing a loving home and second chance, but also leading by example. Our rescue parents take the time to learn a pet’s unique personality to find their perfect match, they make a long-term commitment, and ultimately, build a relationship that improves a pet’s life and their own.

The Channel 7 commentator has called more than a thousand AFL games, 20 grand finals and is one of the most iconic broadcasters in Australian sport, across horse racing and Olympics coverage.
At 67, McAvaney has called some of the big moments in Australian sport over the years but has been slowly stepping back.

Morning mail: alleged rapist returned to parliament, 'pastel QAnon', vaccine tracker

Last modified on Wed 24 Feb 2021 15.05 EST
Greetings. The federal Coalition
Facebook has admitted it over-enforced its Australian news ban, Michael McGowan examines
QAnon’s stealthy infiltration of the wellness industry, and the International Olympic Committee has named Brisbane the “preferred partner” to host the
2032 Olympic Games. These are your Thursday lead stories.
The man who allegedly raped Brittany Higgins was allowed to return to parliament as a lobbyist,a former colleague has claimed. Liberal party ministers have repeatedly denied the man was subsequently issued a Parliament House access pass but a former co-worker confirmed he had attended a small private event commemorating the 250th anniversary of Captain Cook’s Endeavour voyage. Scott Morrison has also fielded questions over inappropriate behaviour allegations against an adviser to the dissident former Liberal MP Craig Kelly, telling parliament on Wednesday that he has held the view “for many years” that the staffer, Frank Zumbo, should have been sacked. Kelly quit the government this week, leaving the Coalition a one-seat majority in the House of Representatives.
