A hairdresser ended up being rushed to hospital for treatment on Friday after he was stabbed by a client who was irked at being made to wait for a haircut.  The incident happened on Friday afternoon in a Marsalforn apartment.  Appearing before magistrate Simone Grech on Saturday, Abdarrouf Al-Mabrouk Keshendra, 29, from Libya but who lives in Marsa, pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring the Ghanian hairdresser. A 42-year-old man was arraigned before the Gozo courts on Wednesday, accused of the murder of an Egyptian man who was shot twice in January 2018. Aleksandr Stojanovic, a Serbian national who lives in Safi, pleaded not guilty to having murdered father-of-two Walid Salah Abdel Motaleb Mohammed, who was found dead in a remote field in Għarb, Gozo, on January 22, 2018. Chief Justice Mark Chetcuti has reassigned all of Magistrate Monica Vella’s criminal and civil case in the Gozo court, with sources saying this was down to slow throughput of work.  The decision was communicated last Thursday when lawyers with pending cases before Magistrate Vella were informed about the change.
