The Congress on Friday strongly opposed the idea of "one nation, one election", terming it "undemocratic", and demanded that the committee formed by the government to examine the issue of simultaneous elections be dissolved immediately.
The One Nation, One Election committee has also sought suggestions from the public. The committee published a public notice in newspapers on January 5 and invited suggestions until January 15.
