you're watching bbc news. i'm mark lobel. microsoft has submitted a new deal to buy the gaming giant activision blizzard, best known for games like call of duty, skylanders and candy crush saga. the original bid of £59 billion was rejected by the competition and markets authority earlier this year. in a blog posted today, microsoft's uk boss, brad smith, said the new offer was "substa ntially different" and he expected it to be approved. under the revised deal, microsoft, which makes the xbox console, has agreed to transfer the rights to stream activision games from the cloud to ubisoft, a video games publisher, for 15 years. let's get more on this first from our gaming correspondent stefan powell. what fears for users have been aired about data gathering?

you can play this as batman, robin, superman, one of the almost 150 different characters. and some really cool features like drop-in, drop out. the whole family is playing. maybe it's bedtime for the kids. they can leave the game and mom and dad can keep playing. >> that is a neat feature. >> skylanders introduced the toys to life category. magic. you take a figure. you put it on the portal of power and it comes to life in the game. this year we have skylander's trap team. when you actually capture the villain you take that villain. you take him right out of the game and you capture him in your titanium trap. so i played this yesterday and i captured sheep creep in there. and now you can put him back into the game. he's going to go back in and he is now going to be a good guy. he is fighting on my team, and it's awesome.
