Almost half the drivers who died on Mackay roads in five years were under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. That is the stark reality revealed in the University of the Sunshine Coast's Road Safety Research Collaboration study into fatal crashes in Queensland from 2011 to 2015. At about 12.30am Friday, two unknown men attended a residence on Keswick Ave, where they assaulted the 46-year-old Slade Point man with the bat and palings outside his house. Date Time Grievous bodily harm at Mackay Mackay police are appealing for public assistance after the serious assault of a man in Slade Point during the early hours of Friday, December 18. Between 9.30pm and 10.30pm, a 46-year-old Slade Point man was involved in an altercation with an unknown person at a licensed premises on Pacific Esplanade. The 46-year-old man then returned home.
