Solid-state cell battery passes long-term test. Volkswagen has now tested a prototype – and is enthusiastic. The model is to be ready for series production as soon as possible. The cell has completed more than 1000 charging cycles, which corresponds to a total range of around 500,000 kilometers, according to PowerCo. According to the »Handelsblatt«, a first pilot production with low quantities is planned for the end of 2024. By 2027 or 2028, cars should come onto the market that can travel 1000 kilometers on a fully charged battery and take less than ten minutes to charge.
