A Christchurch father says his family still hasn't got the closure they hoped for, 10 years on from the death of his son in the 2011 earthquake.
It comes as New Zealand pauses to remember the disaster that rocked a city and a nation to its core a decade ago to this day.
It was February 22, 2011, at 12:51pm, the city was shaken while people were at work, school, and going about their daily lives.
The violent magnitude-6.3 tremor killed 185 people. Parts of the city, including its iconic Christ Church Cathedral, were destroyed.

A Christchurch woman badly injured in the 2011 quake and wrongly cut off from ACC payments is owed more than $236,000 in backdated compensation - but more than half will be used to refund another
government department for benefits she was forced to seek to survive.
Tattoo artist Bonnie Singh is now appealing the "debt" and feels ACC should repay it out of its own coffers, saying if her weekly compensation wasn't stopped she never would have needed benefits.

A woman almost killed in the Christchurch quake - crawling out of rubble with eight broken vertebrae - has been fighting ACC for more than a year to get injury funding and support reinstated after
she was wrongly cut off in 2013.
Bonnie Singh was working as a receptionist at the Southern Ink tattoo studio in February 2011.
She was sitting chatting to trainee tattoo artist and close friend Matti McEachan when the city started to shake.
