Southern soiree: Live Updates :

The Virtual Event Platforms to Know About Right Now

Whether you’re attending an event or planning one, the experience of a cocktail party, book signing, intimate dinner, or product launch has transformed into a near-unrecognizable one over this past year. From exquisitely designed themed dinners to
The Sims–esque interactions with others at virtual parties, new and evolved ways of hosting—and celebrating—are rivaling their IRL counterparts. Here, AD PRO rounds up some of the most exciting virtual events platforms and experiences to know about now.
The Dinner Party 2.0
“We like to say, ‘When COVID-19 gave us lemons, we made limoncello!’” says Meghan McNeer, creative director of Project Bon Vivant, or, in her words, “your ‘good times’ concierge.” PBV creates themed virtual events wherever there is access to Zoom, with food, wine, and entertainment that are anything but static. The platform aligns with chefs, sommeliers, makers, and musicians to create custom themed evenings (think Southern Soiree, with ribs, pulled pork, and pecan pie from Alabama’s famed Dreamland Bar-B-Cue; or Pizza Party, with pizzas from Nicoletta NYC and either a comedian or magician on hand to entertain). The proceeds benefit the James Beard Foundation organization charity Open for Good.
