Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Dunstan Bryan, told a Joint Select Committee (JSC) of Parliament today, that all options have to be considered at the policy directorate level, and a decision taken before the Ministry can go any further with plans for a major regional hospital in the parish.

Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Desmond McKenzie, has expressed sadness at the death of Councillor for the Greater Portmore East Division in the Portmore Municipality, Yvonne McCormack.
McCormack died earlier on Friday, a release from the ministry said.
McKenzie, in the release, stated that McCormack had been battling with a number of serious health challenges.
"Yvonne had been fighting multiple myeloma from 2014, and breast cancer since 2011, a fact that she was very open about," the minister highlighted.
"... and she did not allow these severe health challenges to keep her down. In fact, she found the strength to campaign in Southern St Catherine in the February 2016 General Elections, and she campaigned victoriously to remain councillor for her division in the Local Government Elections in November that year," McKenzie shared.
