First look of Dhanush from Mari Selvaraj's Karnan revealed, film releases on 9 April
Dhanush took to Twitter to share the first look poster of Karnan along with the release date.
South star Dhanush on Sunday announced that his upcoming Tamil film
Karnan will have a worldwide theatrical release on 9 April.
The film, reportedly billed as an action-drama, is helmed by Mari Selvaraj of
Pariyerum Perumal fame.
Dhanush took to Twitter and shared the first look poster of
Karnan along with the release date. The poster features the actor star standing handcuffed, bleeding from the forehead and hands.
"The soul of justice never dies," the tagline on the poster read.

Kutty Story is an anthology of four stories of urban, middle class, heterosexual romance. Within the constraints of that, it is an interesting mix of shorts. The most problematic one is Vijay’s
Avanum Naanum. It is the story of a college-going woman, Preethi, who gets pregnant. Soon enough, the story becomes about abortion. In Vijay’s world, abortion is illegal (thank god, in the real world, it is not — at least not in India since the 1970s). Yet, in the film, doctors who perform the allegedly “illegal” abortions make women fill out forms titled “abortion form” because that’s how illegal activities function; complete with signed and stamped paperwork!

Hasyam movie review: Jayaraj captures the banality of callousness through a tragi-comic tale of a cadaver agent

Rasa means juice, flavour or essence, and – to put it in the simplest terms possible –
Navarasa in the Indian arts refers to the nine (
nava) emotional states as captured by a work of art, and as manifested in the audience’s experience of and response to that work.

This gigantic project that the multiple-award-winning filmmaker kicked off in 2000 can best be described then as an anthology on the emotions at play in human society.
The title of the latest addition to this collection is not to be taken literally though.
Hasyam has been described by the director as a black comedy, but its most striking aspect is its success in capturing the banality of callousness in a morbid profession (hat tip: Hannah Arendt) through the lightness of being in the life of a cadaver agent.

Koozhangal), written and directed by Vinothraj PS, was announced as the winner of the prestigious Tiger Award at this year's edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Actor Nayanthara, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, Sai Devanand S are the producers of the feature.

Zombie Reddy movie review: Prashant Varma's zombie comedy adds a fun twist to an action-packed family drama

The opening shot of
Zombie Reddy, written and directed by Prashant Varma, is a sight to behold. Somewhere in Rayalaseema, a bird, flying over a temple, is struck by lightning. Call it a miracle or a stroke of luck, the bird survives.
It works both as a symbol of a mythical element in the story and also, a reminder that when stakes are high, there will always be a divine intervention — a quintessential plot point in Telugu action dramas. After all, the biggest threat to the characters in the story is a zombie attack, and nothing less than a miracle can stop these half-dead creatures to restore harmony and peace.
