EAST GODAVARI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is slated to visit the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple at Antarvedi in Sakhinetipalle Mandal East Godavari district on the 19th of this month, which also marks the holy Rathasapthami day.
Speaking to the media on Friday after inspecting the new chariot that was built recently, the Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas said that there was a possibility of the chariot being taken out by devotees on the day of Rathasapthami and that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had desired to come to Antarvedi on the occasion.

New Delhi: A BJP member raised the recent spate of attacks on Hindu temples in Andhra Pradesh in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday and demanded that the Union Home Ministry seek a report from the state. Raising the issue through a zero-hour mention, GVL Narasimha Rao of the BJP said more than 140 incidents of attacks on Hindu temples have taken place in Andhra Pradesh.

While addressing media yesterday, he said "Security of temples in Andhra Pradesh seems to be full of lapses. Antarvedi chariot incident to Ramateertham incident proves the same. Security of temples has become a matter of grave concern. Primarily 50 major such incidents took place."
"After the completion of 'Dhanurmasa', we will visit all those places. All temples need to install CCTV cameras. It is the responsibility of the endowments department to take care of the security at temples. But there are many lapses in the department. There is a need of course correction," he added.
