Unfortunately the east coast of the u.s. and this is all thanks to a very strong high pressure that will build just to the north of the tropical storm and it will use that as a steering current to keep this moving in a general west to northwesterly direction with unfortunately all of our model consensus, you've seen this before, this is a spaghetti plot, all the various computer models starting to hone in on the east coast, specifically the carolinas. of course we're several days out before the potential landfall of this tropical system. we're talking about tuesday, wednesday into thursday of ...

The dominican republic, move east of the turks and caicos as well as the bahamas, which would be great news. and fingers crossed, it looks like the steering current are going to keep this storm offshore over the next couple of days and remain, you know, a strong hurricane over the next, say, 48 to 60 hours and then it moves up towards the north and northeast. it will weaken. and hopefully not affect anyone across the east coast of the u.s., which is, of course, great news. but the pictures and the information coming from puerto rico are just devastating. and the u.s. and british virgin islands...

Spreading out, which is actually not good news, that that makes more storm surge. so what we're doing right now is we're flying up to 45,000 feet, dropping a pattern of 32 drop tons into the storm and even more importantly into the path of the storm and the parts of the atmosphere that will dictate where the storm goes and what we call the steering current. i don't anticipate based on what we've seen any kind of sharp unexpected turns that would spare south florida. so everybody needs to really, really pay attention to the latest advisories. >> and richard, you are literally there up on the fr...
