except for women. this is the most as a nine -- as nine, i would say the most anti-woman, anti-reality pursuit we have seen from this administration thus far. it is something that not only abolishing women's sport as we know it, this would allow men in women's locker room, bathroom, changing spaces, potentially allow men to be housed in dorm rooms with women, and this would compel or our stephen. students and faculty would be forced, required to use preferred pronounce, and if we don't or if you, a 17-year-old girl who's randomly housed with a male in your dorm room, if you go to your administration and express your discomfort, under this new proposal, this new rewrite, you would be guilty and charged with sexual harassment. not the man praigd around your locker room. no, to piped opinion that's considered brave, that's considered inspiring and stunning and whatever other very white house word he wants -- virtuous word he wants to use with.

and his father, geoffrey, who was a junior minister in the liberal government the last time the liberals were in coalition — was very worried about it and was very upset about it because suddenly his child was short. the reason i mention the grandfather first because isn't it the case that it was the grandfather's genetic mutation which he was not aware of? that is right. which he then passed on to your father, his son? exactly, you are quite right, stephen, sorry. in fact, 60% of people who are born with my condition are born to average height parents. anybody who watches this programme who is themselves average height or even tall could have a short child. obviously, myself, i have a 50—50 chance of a short child and, indeed, my father had an average height child

putin and with moscow. you know better than i do that the vice president, kamala harris, and the national security advisor, jake sullivan, have both told zelensky in the last few weeks to back off from ukraine's drone strikes against russia's oil refinery and oil and gas assets, because, again, the americans are so worried about, quote unquote "escalation". so, going back to oil refineries, russian oil refineries are completely legitimate targets. and it has nothing to do with the spike of oil prices. yeah, but... i know what you think. i'm trying to understand whether you understand washington right now or whether you're failing to understand them. i'm trying, stephen, to explain you where we stand. so, on the issue of avoiding the escalation, my political history and my political

almost out of time. when we last spoke in the weeks after february 24th, 2022, you said, quote, "we will have victory or death. "this is an existential issue." are you now, more than two years later, prepared to say to me, there may have to be something less black and white than victory or death, that there may, in the end, have to be some sort of painful deal done with moscow that involves concessions? ukraine will prevail in this war. ukraine will get nato and eu membership. the free world is to win this righteous fight. there is no other option on the table, steven. and this is ourjoint fight for the future of the humanity. i am not exaggerating. we have to end there. arseni yatsenyuk, i thank you very much for being on hardtalk. thank you, stephen.

arseniy yatsenyuk in kyiv, welcome to hardtalk. thanks for having me, stephen. here's a very simple first question. do you feel that ukraine right now is going through its bleakest moments in this war since your country survived that initial russian onslaught in late february 2022? we are at a critical juncture, no doubt, stephen, you're absolutely correct. so we survived two years ago due to an unbelievable resolve of the ukrainian people and due to the real unity among the western world. as of now, the mood is different, but i still believe that we have the chance to prevail. but we need an enormous effort that needs to be undertaken mainly by our western allies. so the mood is different, but chances for ukraine to prevail and to survive are very high. all depends on the actions.
