The blame-game on who bears responsibility for the typographic errors and counter referencing of non-existent Articles in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) referendum Bill has now sucked in the county assemblies.
Several county assembly speakers who spoke to
The Sunday Standard confirmed receiving a hard copy from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chair Wafula Chebukati, alongside its certificate for the referendum drive.
This emerged even as the joint parliamentary committee of the Justice and Legal Affairs turned the heat on the IEBC that transmitted the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2020 to counties in January, a day after the latter shifted blame to the proponents.

Interior Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho, stepped in and restored sanity at President Uhuru Kenyatta's meeting at Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri after MCAs demonstrated.
The lawmakers, on Friday, January 29, were infuriated by the presentation of the legal expert, Tom Macharia, who urged them to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) for various benefits.
Since 2017, the Mt Kenya MCAs have been pressurising Kenyatta to award them with Ksh 2 million car grant given to MPs.

In the first of four days of meetings in the region, Uhuru tells local leaders they have a reason to support the BBI and says he will have a say on his succession.
President Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday started his four-day pitch for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) by offering a sweetener that could change the tide for the constitutional reform moment.
The president acceded to demands by MCAs to be given car grants, adding that the same would be given to all ward representatives across the country.
Uhuru also stated that although he would be retiring, he would still have a say in the political scene.
