The Golden State Warriors are straddling the line between pretty good and just fine, and for this particular fanbase,
pretty good and
just fine is something of a baffling place to be. A not-insignificant sample size of Warriors fans have only experienced fleeting glimpses of middle-of-the-road status. Historically, the Dubs have been an absolute catastrophe, at one point only making the playoffs twice in 19 seasons, to say nothing of the Chris Webber-Don Nelson feud, breaking up Run-TMC, failing to keep the "We Believe" squad together and, of course, their best player choking the head coach. And then for a five-season run of utter dominance no one really saw coming, caring about the Warriors took on an entirely new, bizarre contour.
