Greece applies for more than 25 billion euros in development funds Search for: Greece has submitted a funding proposal to the European Union worth more than 25 billion euros, announced the Development and Investments Ministry on Monday. According to the announcement, the final application of the 2021-2027 National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) proposal was submitted yesterday to the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). “Our goal is to immediately provide additional liquidity to Greece’s economy, and to partner with the EU Recovery Fund in a major effort to change the country’s productive model, to protect the environment and to create thousands of new jobs.” said Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, Minister for Development and Investment. ....

Perhaps no sector has been harder hit harder by the year-long COVID-19 epidemic in Greece than restaurants, which have been shut down by the government for the last five months upon the advice of the experts on the National Committee for COVID-19 due to heightened public health (transmission) risks. The sole type of legal operation of restaurants and other food establishments is home delivery and take-away from the premises. Though the announcement brought a sigh of relief to struggling entrepreneurs, the sector is hardly out of the woods as it is still uncertain when it will re-open. ....

Greek gov t announces 330-mln€ subsidy plan for country s pandemic-devastated F&B sector Thursday, 01 April 2021 23:32 UPD:23:43 The Greek government announced another targeted stimulus package on Thursday for one of the hardest-hit markets during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, namely, the food & beverage sector, with 330 million euros to be doled out to business to cover the purchase of supplies when such businesses reopen. The sector, along with certain categories of retailers, such as clothing and apparel, have been devastated over the more than year-old Covid-19 outbreak.
