NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian has reported seven new cases of local transmission of the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, six linked to the northern beaches after 24,000 tests were undertaken on Boxing Day.
Six of the cases are linked to the Avalon cluster and the seventh case relates to a northern beaches fire fighter who visited the Belrose Hotel on December 11.

The Premier urged people in the northern beaches to be patient as the lockdown continued saying she would have more information on New Year's Eve restrictions tomorrow or on Tuesday at the latest.
"I will say something tomorrow or at the very latest the day after on what New Year's Eve looks like and also what the first couple of weeks of January looks like for everyone."
