Nkana sent a statement about their survival hopes on Saturday following a 2-1 home win over Prison Leopards at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe. The victory handed third from bottom Nkana its second successive league victory from three home games in May that boosted their survival hopes with six games left to avoid demotion. Zimbabwe defender Gilroy Chimwemwe scored and provided an assist on the day as Nkana also avenged their 2-0 first leg away loss to Prison on December 30. Zesco United have beaten Indeni 2-0 in the away Ndola derby to open a ten point lead at the top of the FAZ Super Division table. Indeni managed to hold Zesco until the 83rd minute when defender Mwila Phiri breached the Oil Men backline. Coach Numba Mumamba’s Zesco doubled the lead four minutes later with new signee Chitiya Mususu opening his account at the Ndola side – months after joining them from Zanaco. The win pushes Zesco to 52 points after playing 24 matches as Indeni drop o...

Zesco come into the match after beating mid-table side Red Arrows 2-1 last Wednesday in Ndola to bounce back from their 2021 ABSA Cup final loss to Lusaka Dynamos on April 24 at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka. That victory o...

Nkana and Napsa both fly-out this Sunday to North Africa for their respective CAF Confederation Cup group stage openers to be played on March 10. Ironically, both were set to grace the live Week 21 doubleheader at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka where Nkana were due to face Zanaco in a 15h00 kickoff and Napsa were set to host Buildcon in the lunchtime fixture. Instead, the Green Buffaloes versus Nkwazi game will now be Saturdays live game on TV. Nkana head to Egypt to play last seasons’ CAF Confed...
