Three former Free State Agriculture department heads - one of whom is still a government official - as well as a businessman linked to the Gupta brothers are appearing in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the arrests were made in the Free State, Gauteng and Mpumalanga on Wednesday morning. Spokesperson for the NPA's investigating directorate, Sindisiwe Seboka, says the multi-million rand case relates to the controversial Estina company and charges include fraud, corruption and money laundering.
Details are very sketchy presently, however, a fifth arrest in the case is imminent.

The Asset Forfeiture Unit has been granted an order to freeze assets belonging to a controversial Free State businesswoman and her co-accused.
Lenah Mohapi, her company Superior Quality Trading, former Free State agriculture department CFO Sylvia Dhlamini, and others face charges of forgery, uttering, fraud, corruption and money laundering.
The charges are related to the controversial multimillion-rand Estina dairy farm scandal.
The Asset Forfeiture Unit has been granted an order to freeze assets belonging to suspects who allegedly benefitted from the controversial Free State Estina dairy farm scandal.
The multimillion-rand scandal, which allegedly involved Gupta associates, shocked the country and left legitimate beneficiaries in limbo.

The Free State High Court has granted a seizure order to the Asset Forfeiture Unit to seize property of R249 million, which belongs to senior government officials and businesswoman Lenah Mohapi (55).

It is reported the Free State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development gave a number of contracts to a company called Superior Quality Trading, even though the company never attended any of the required biding meetings.
The criminal matter is currently before the High Court of South Africa, Bloemfontein where they face 54 counts of fraud, theft, corruption, money laundering, forgery and uttering to the value of R249 million.
