Laptop and tablet install base set to skyrocket in 2021 - Gartner

Around 6.2 billion devices (including laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile phones) will be in use by the end of 2021, Gartner claims. The number of laptops in use will increase by 8.8 per cent this year while the number of tablets will increase by 11.7 per cent. By 2022, the global devices install base is set to reach 6.4 billion units - up 3.2 per cent on 2021. The worldwide boost in remote working devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets will be coupled with a continued decline in desktop PCs.
